The Operation Protective Edge

25 Sept 2019

This was written by me in 2014. I am still hunted by the Operation Protective Edge by which Palestine was ethnically cleansed for over 50 days.

I’m still hunted by inaction of the US President Barack Obama and his harsh and bitter language referring to Palestinians as “Barbarians”.

Anyhow this is what I jutted down 5 years ago, I read and refer to my own old posts because there are events that should never be forgotten.

No photo description available.

When we think of ISIS, Al Nusrah Front, and various potpourri of fundamentalist groups, not only the support we see for them (despite their eschewed ideology) is not new, but that the support is growing.

However, the vile and unexcused behavior of members of these groups, majority of whom are from Muslim countries, are not a 'cause' in itself but rather the "effect' and/or "consequences" of decades of being colonized/occupied by Europe and the US.

Some occupiers like Israel, a victim of the West herself have become victimizer, and have been historically supported by the West in their brutality and systematic annihilation of indigenous people of the region (Palestine.)

The western occupiers killed men, women, children and the elderly. Humiliating people in their own land, raping the women, imprisoning the men, and in general perpetuating a cycle of violence that went on for centuries.

The impetus almost always has been greed for natural resources, such as oil, gas, precious metals, by proxy of installing puppet regimes whom facilitated and paved the road for not only raping of the land but its people.

So in short, the majority of these extremist groups come from countries whose histories has been negatively affected by the colonizers of yesteryear and Imperial power of today.

Hence it is important to understand that they don't hate us for our freedom, they hate us for what we stand for, they hate us because we have destroyed generations after generations of their people, they hate us because we have no respect for their culture, their lives, their livelihood.

It is true that we never look at ourselves as "colonists" but in fact that's exactly who we are. We invade countries like Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan and Syria if it serves our 'national interest'. Our 'national interest' ties to either their 'natural resources' or their 'geopolitical position.'

They are looked at as simply impediment to our expansionist agenda, like a bump in the road they slow us down, so we devise a way to remove the road bump. We do it by killing their people, by subjugating their masses, by choking their economy, and by beheading their culture.

We do all that under guise of 'liberation', alas the only thing we manage to liberate and free them from is their resources, their land, their sovereignty, their national identity. We decapitate their dignity and their rights to self-determination.

Many from our both sides (ours & theirs) fall victim to this twisted game we play, many become the collateral damage of the cycle of violence we foster. In the process neither they nor us would ever know peace. Peace is the first casualty and in reality we are all headless.

There is no excuse for butchery of any kind, we can't kill and say killing is wrong, we can't destabilize and say we won't stand for the breach of our security, we can not fight terrorism and contribute to terror all over the globe, we can't violate human rights and claim we respect it.
Last but not least, we can not instigate war to bring about peace.

Barack H. Obama has been in office for 68 months to this day, Syria is the 7th country he has bombed and destabilized, but let us be realistic, Barack Obama is one in the long line of executors of US global aggression.

I care not if he is better or worse than the one before him or the one who would come after him, the question is if he who is executor of the US policies is any better that the hooded man dressed in black and about to behead yet another victim kneeling down helplessly awaiting his fate.
The answer is very clear to me, he is not any better, butchery is not defined by the nature of one's crime, but by the criminal act itself.

When and why we became voice of Palestinians

I am thinking let us share our story, let us share when and why we became voice of Palestinians. My Palestinian friends should also be encouraged to share their personal story.
It is through sharing that we see the human side of this century old conflict.

I also encourage my Jewish friends (and I have quiet a few well respected Jewish friends) to share their stories candidly and honestly.

Let us stick to the human side of the story, let us not politicize it, for once let us not categorize and compartmentalize ourselves to groups, Arabs, Muslims, Jewish, Israeli, Palestinians....let us just be a mother, a father, a brother, a sister, a friend, we are all one part of this big group.

Let us for once leave Rothschild, denial of Holocaust and human suffering, 'two-state solution', 'Peace Talk', etc. aside and stay human. I think it will do us a lot of good, there will never going to be a 'political bridge' but there will always be a 'human bridge' that we can build.

Getting involved in plight of Palestinians

Susan Neven - 11 Aug 2017

People often ask me how and when did I get involve in plight of Palestinians, privately I have answered that question but I think it is time to tell the story publicly.

It was 1982 and I just graduated from University and have started my first job and that was in Pennsylvania.

I was using public transportation commuting back and forth to work and there were a few faces that I would see every morning and every afternoon sharing the same public transit so etiquette dictated offer of a smile and a quick hi. Among these few faces was a young girl, same age as me around 20, very pretty and with a bright and ever present smile. I don't remember if it was me or her who initiated a conversation but we became friend. She asked me where I was originally from and I asked her likewise. She said she was from Palestine.

I knew of Palestine growing up, every evening watched the news of the Arab/Israeli conflict with my late grandmother growing up in Tehran, it was era of Moshe Dyan and Golda Meir and I remembered my grandma's tearing eyes but were too young to know what she was crying about.

Suad became my first Palestinian friend, she told me that she came to the States with her mom in a prior year after living in Jordan for few years as a refugee. I asked her how did she end up in Jordan, and she told me the story that was utterly shocking to me at the time but have become a common place story 35 years later.

As it happened Suad who had lost her dad when she was young was living with her mom and as she explained there was a knock on their door one night and they were told by an Israeli soldier that they have to move by the next day.
She said a similar notification were issued to the whole neighborhood and that is what they did, just packed a small suitcase and left before dawn leaving everything behind! They'd eventually ended up in Jordan and lived there for few years till her brother who was living in the US (Pennsylvania) arranged for them to come to the States. She considered herself lucky, she'd learned English and found a job.

I on the other hand could not wrap my head around what she had gone through, it was unimaginable story to me, a twenty year old girl. Needless to say Suad's story has forever changed me. I got to know her mom, her brother, got to taste her mom's fabulous cooking of wonderful Palestinian cuisine and when my mom came to the States to visit me, we invited Suad and her family for some Persian food.

It was through Suad that I learned about perseverance, resilience, and hope. She thought me beauty of life as well as ugliness of human beings. I became Suad, I became a Palestinian, and see Suad in every Palestinian face even since then.

We stayed in touch for a long time even after I moved to California but while I eventually lost touch with Suad I did not lose touch with Palestine. For the last 35 years I have been the voice and plight of Suad. Long Live Palestine.

Israeli MK: burning Palestinian boys is not act of terror

Pathology of sick society which believes it has a place in this world though for 67 years it has shown that it is incompatible with humanity.

The vermin Bezalel Smotrich who is a member of Israeli Knesset - that abhorrent body of sub-humans - considered on Thursday (June 2, 2016) that burning Palestinian children is not an act of terror.

Smotrich published a column in the B’Sheva weekly newspaper, saying that the attacks carried out by extremist Israeli settlers, including “price tag” attacks are not classified as terrorism.

Smotrich wrote: “Terrorism is only violence carried out by an enemy within the framework of war against us, and only that justifies taking severe steps who are out of place in normal situations, all the rest are serious crimes, abominable crime, nationalist crime, but not terrorism.”

Now does this cretin and many like him who make-up the Israeli society have a right to exist? HELL NO.

Palestinians commemorated NAKBA

Once again Palestinians commemorated NAKBA for the 68th time I believe, alas Palestine has a Nakba of her own. His name is Mahmoud Abbas, his Party Fatah, and he is the President of incompetent and impotent Palestinian Authority and indecently he is the only President who has been self appointed president whose term has ended on January 9, 2009, over 7 years ago but he is still there. I suppose he is just another Nakba in addition to the occupying enemy of peace and humanity, the genocidal cancer on face of humanity, the Zionism.
